- From Southeastern Wisconsin - Interstate 90 to La Crosse. Take Exit # 4 and follow Hwy. 53 north to Galesville. At the stoplight take Hwy. 54 west to Centerville. At the 4 way stop, go straight on Hwy. 35 and follow it 28 miles to the harbor. From Cochrane, Great River Harbor is 4 miles north on the left.
- From Iowa and Southen Minnesota - Interstate 90 to Hwy. 43 North. Take Winona Exit # 252. Follow Hwy. 43 to downtown Winona and the Mississippi River bridge. Cross the bridge, take a left on Hwy. 35, and follow it 19 miles to Great River Highway. The harbor is 4 miles north of Cochrane on the left.
- From the Twin Cities Area - Hwy. 61 south to Wabasha, Minnesota. Take the bridge across the Mississippi River and go right (south) on Hwy. 35. From there it is 9 miles to Alma. The Great River Harbor is 3 miles south of town on the right.
